Choosing a modpack for your computer and server

A modpack groups mods and configuration into one experience. Some focus on exploration, others on technology, quests or performance. Read the pack’s description before choosing it, and distinguish a client pack from a dedicated server package.

Import the pack using a launcher that supports its file format. Preserve the Minecraft and loader versions selected by the pack author. Updating every mod independently can break the combination that the author tested.

When playing with friends, use the same required pack release. Check the author’s memory requirements and start with conservative graphics settings. Back up both the world and the pack configuration before moving to a newer release.
