Using Minecraft commands safely in a test world
Commands can change world settings, move players or create items. Their syntax differs between Java and Bedrock and can change between game versions. Use the in-game suggestions for the version you are running.
Start with a copy of your world when testing a command that changes blocks or entities. Check the selected coordinates and targets before executing it. A broad selector can affect more players or entities than you intended.
On a server, grant command permissions only for the tasks a role needs. Keep a record of configuration changes and use the server console or log to diagnose errors. Avoid granting unrestricted operator access just to enable a single feature.
